Hazy Path

Contemplative meanderings of a mind
Set free down a river of calm
Smooth glass, like ice
In Alaska, in the winter
Slowly skating under the freezing sun
Shooting icy rays through your coat
Piercing your skin
To the bone
Spurring forward across the frictionless
Land matching sky, in whiteout
Everything blends into one
Behind and ahead
Except now, it is crystal clear
Brightly reflecting the enlightenment
Of the entire boundless world
That doesn’t blur until you look
Behind and ahead
There is an endless crawling river
To infinity and maybe beyond
Where potential lay
For rapids or rushing or rocks
For the depth beneath the stillness
To rise up
Rear its head
Leave a mark
In this dreary world
Of wandering blending
Synthesizing every element into one
Piece of generic nothingness
Nondescript blurriness
Running together
Behind and ahead
Trying to keep this moment
Separate from the rest
But it will slowly pass as all moments do
Floating away in passivity
